LOCATION CHANGE: Due to a maintenance issue in the auditorium, the GJHS Band Performance will be tonight at 7pm, as previously planned, but is BEING MOVED TO THE GERING HIGH SCHOOL GYM.

At last night's Board of Education Meeting we said a heartfelt goodbye to two outgoing Board Members - Mary Winn (12 years) and Brady Shaul (9 years). Thank you to both for their tremendous commitment of time and dedication to the students and staff of Gering Public Schools.

Gering Public Schools will be in session tomorrow - Friday, December 16th. However, we will not run rural bus routes. Please be sure to use caution when driving tomorrow and allow for extra travel time.

Due to intense winds overnight and after consultation early this morning with road crews, we have determined that for the safety of students, staff and our community we are going to cancel school for ALL Gering Public Schools Thursday, December 15th. We appreciate your understanding and flexibility as we continue to thoughtfully weigh these ongoing weather decisions.

Gering Public Schools (PreK-12) WILL be in session tomorrow (Thursday, December 15th), with normal school hours. However, please note that we will NOT run our RURAL bus routes. Please use caution and allow for extra time to/from school.

Due to the ongoing hazardous weather conditions, we plan to EXTEND the SNOW DAY through Wednesday, December 14. Stay safe, Bulldogs! We also want to say THANKS to the City, road crews, and our district maintenance team for the work they do to keep our Bulldog community safe!

UPDATE 10:01 AM: At this time the SECURE Status has been lifted at all Gering Public Schools. All schools will return to conducting business as usual.

The following Gering Public School buildings have been placed into a SECURE status while Gering Police Department investigates a report of a suspicious individual in the vicinity of Lincoln Elementary School: - Lincoln Elementary - Gering High School SECURE status means doors are locked and business as usual is conducted inside. No one is permitted to enter or leave the schools until the SECURE status has been lifted.
