Gering, NE - February 13, 2025 - Gering High School’s DECA chapter has demonstrated excellence in business and entrepreneurship, earning Gold Certification for its School-Based Enterprise (SBE), Bulldog Graphics. This distinguished recognition from the International DECA organization places Bulldog Graphics among the top SBEs in the nation, showcasing its commitment to high-quality retail operations and adherence to model business standards.
The certification process required Bulldog Graphics' student leaders to complete a comprehensive written project, demonstrating how their enterprise aligns with National Curriculum Standards and operates in accordance with select business best practices. Despite the challenges of managing a business while balancing full-time high school coursework, Bulldog Graphics continues to thrive, setting a standard for excellence in school-based enterprises.
Bulldog Graphics is a student-run business at Gering High School, managed by DECA students. Specializing in vinyl printing, cutting, and banner creation, the enterprise provides high-quality custom graphic solutions to the school and local community. With a mission to combine hands-on learning with professional service, Bulldog Graphics fosters entrepreneurship and real-world skills among students.
Recognition is awarded at three levels: Bronze, Silver, and Gold. SBEs earning Gold-level Certification are granted the exclusive opportunity to bring up to two student representatives to participate in the SBE Academy and competition at DECA’s International Career Development Conference (ICDC) in Orlando, Florida. This prestigious event provides an invaluable platform for students to enhance their business acumen, network with industry leaders, and compete at an international level.
The 2024-2025 academic year saw a record-breaking number of submissions, with 851 SBEs earning Gold-level Certification—including Gering DECA’s Bulldog Graphics.
“Achieving Gold Certification is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our students,” said Broc Brown, Gering DECA Advisor. “Bulldog Graphics continues to be a model school-based enterprise, and we are incredibly proud of our students' efforts in achieving this honor.”
