(February 28, 2025) Gering, NE – Gering Public Schools is providing the community with detailed information about the proposed Gering Middle School Bond through a newly launched website and three upcoming informational meetings. The bond proposal addresses critical safety improvements, structural stability, accessibility, and enhanced learning spaces for Gering Middle School.

District residents will vote on this bond through a mail-in election on March 11, 2025.

Informational Website Now Live

Community Informational Meetings
To supplement the website, Gering Public Schools invites residents to attend one of three informational meetings at Gering Middle School. The meetings will include a presentation of the bond proposal, key details, opportunity for a school tour and Q&A.

Proposed Bond Highlights
The bond proposal includes the following improvements to Gering Middle School:

  • Demolition of 74,800 sq. ft. of the existing campus.

  • Construction of a 64,000+ sq. ft., two-story classroom addition to the west lawn.

  • A secure and clearly defined front entrance to improve safety.

  • Addition of a new competition gym for school and community events.

  • Stabilization, repair, and renovation of 24,200 sq. ft. of the north gym and surrounding technical education classrooms.

  • Expanded parking and drop-off areas to improve safety and traffic flow.

The bond proposal seeks to address aging infrastructure while ensuring a safe and functional learning environment for current and future students.
