Internet Safety
With a one-to-one chromebook ratio for K-12, Gering Public Schools works to ensure our students are safe while online at our school buildings.
Gering Public Schools uses several filtering systems from different vendors for content filtering. There is a long list of url sites that are blocked. This list is constantly reviewed and updated by our curriculum and technology staff. Although they are secure while using the internet on-site at our schools, they may not necessarily be if they are connecting to a different network, such as a home or public wifi network.
Please review your parental controls of your home's internet network. If you are not sure what controls you may be able to use, please contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) and their support teams can assist you with ways you can ensure a safer online experience for your family.
