Dr. Drew Lyon is a Professor and Dryland Cropping Systems
Specialist with the University of Nebraska Panhandle Research &
Extension Center. He is married to Beth. They have two children
April (junior) and Shelby (freshman). He was elected to the Board
in November 2002 and 2006. Dr. Lyon was elected Board President in
January 2009.
Pam O’Neal is Director of Revenue Cycle and Case Management at
Regional West Medical Center. She is married to Dr. Tracy O’Neal.
NEED SOMETHING ON SHAWN! She and her husband enjoy traveling
(especially to Europe). Mrs. O’Neal was appointed to the Board in
September 2001 and elected to the Board in November 2002 and 2006;
she served as Board President for two and a half years. She is
currently serving as Board vice President.
Mike Brunner has been a Certified Transportation Broker for
Ameri-Co Logistics in Scottsbluff since 1979. His wife Pam (Brunz)
works as a para educator for Gering Public Schools. They have two
children, Kayleigh (will graduate in May with a teaching degree and
is currently student teaching at Lincoln Heights Elementary in
Scottsbluff) and Jeffery (a sophomore at the University of
Wyoming). Mr. Brunner and his family enjoy gardening and camping.
Mr. Brunner was elected to the Board in November 2002 and 2006.
B.J. Peters is the Technology/Distance Learning Director at
Educational Service Unit #13. His wife Alynn is a first grade
teacher at Geil Elementary. They have four children Bradley
(freshman at UNK, pre-med), Adam (senior), Kyle (freshman) and
Kendra (eighth grade). Mr. Peters was elected to the Board in
November 2005.
Jody Miles was elected to the Board in November of 2008. He has
been the Vice President and Controller for Platte Valley Financial
Service Companies for the past six years. He has been a soccer
coach for AYSO for 11 years and a board member for six years. He
also coached Gering-Up Basketball, Gering Go-Baseball, basketball,
golf, football and YMCA youth sports. He has been a member of the
Lions for five years and board member for four years. He was a
board member of the Gering Schools Foundation and the Treasurer for
Gering Citizens for Kids during the 2007 bond election. Mr. Miles
graduated from Bayard High School and received a Bachelor of Arts
Degree in Business from Chadron State College. He and his wife
Lucretia have two children; Miranda (junior) and Mitchell (7th
grade). He and his family enjoy golf and building spec homes. Mr.
Miles was elected to the Board in November 2008.
Alan Doll is a 1980 Gering High graduate. He attended WNCC and the
University of Nebraska. He is married to Sharon and has two sons
Brian (7th grader) and Jason (5th grader). Mr. Doll served six
years on the Gering City Council. He coached AYSO soccer and GO
baseball. He is a Counselor for Columbian Squires and member of the
Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of the Gering Citizens
for Kids committee that promoted the Gering schools bond issue. Mr.
Doll is employed by B&C Steel. Mr. Doll was elected to the
Board in November 2008.
